Anoushka Shankar
Anoushka is an American British sitarist and musician. She's the smallest woman and was the first person to be awarded the British House of Commons shield. Anoushka Sitar Shankar is the Indian young sitar star. She is a student as well as daughter to Ravi Shankar. Born in London and grew up in New Delhi, she spent the early years of her life traveling between London and New Delhi. When she arrived in New Delhi, she made her first appearance at only 13 years old. In the following years she moved to Encinitas CA she attended high school and graduated with distinction in the year 1999. Even though she's very young Anouskha is an accomplished performer and recording career. Her father was with her to numerous performances over some time. The singer made Anourag her debut album on her own in 1998. In 2002, she debuted her Grammy Nominated Live at Carnegie Hall. Apart from performing in many of the biggest venues and venues, she also has an extensive stage presence. Her career extends beyond music. Bapi The Love of My Live is her 2002 memoir, that was a tribute Ravi Shankar. She has also acted in a number of films. In 2003, she acted in the film Dance Like a Man where she plays an aspiring Bharat Natyam performer. Anoushka Shankar's career continues to unfold and we're likely to see many things from her in the years to follow. Anoushka Shankar is a British born musician who spent her early years split between London, Delhi and California. She started learning to play the guitar at the age nine and played the sitar to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the birth of her father in Delhi four years later. Her father traveled around the world with her and she was able to gain many new experiences. When she was still at her teens, Anoushka performed at Carnegie Hall during Peter Gabriel's WOMAD Music Festival. In recognition of being a leading musician of Asian Arts, she was given the House of Commons Shield by British parliament.
